Thestasi on "[Plugin: W3 Total Cache]: KML and mediawiki"
March 10, 2010 by David Olsen
I think what gzip stops through its compression is the php file that runs the queries against the database to produce the kml file. This kml file it produces contains the icons and the locations which are used on google maps. This php file is executed every time somebody loads the maps page in order that the latest locations on the map are displayed
If I enable the gzip, my kml output file is blank so that is why my icons and locations are missing from the map, thus leading me to believe the php code execution is halted by the gzip.
